The Standards Alliance<\/a> was a public-private partnership between ANSI and USAID, which was announced by USAID in November 2012 as a funding facility designed to provide capacity-building assistance to developing countries, specifically related to implementation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Agreement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

The main objectives of the program included: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Increased understanding of WTO TBT principles;<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Implementation of the Code of Good Practice for the Preparation, Adoption and Application of Standards;<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg><\/span>Improved transparency in the development and\/or modification of technical regulations;<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/path><\/svg><\/span>More robust and transparent engagement with the private sector in standards development and use.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
